Scholar In Residence Weekend : ‘Dereh Kef: The Path of Informal Education’
Have you ever wondered what it will take to get your family to disconnect from their Ipods and cell phones and reconnect with their cultural and religious roots? “In Derech Kef”, literally translated as “The Path of Fun”, Ari Reis reveals methods of Informal Jewish Education which truly engage communities. He opens the doors of Judaic history, text, and tradition to all ages in a modern, humorous, and interactive way. This Shabbat weekend of fun and entertaining workshops and discussions is geared for all of the branches of Jewish communities and all ages are welcome.

Modern techniques are explored that every member of the community can utilize on the path of lifelong learning. By describing and discussing the importance of kinesthetic learning, Ari shows congregations that every day is filled with teachable moments.
Saturday Afternoon Lunch and Learn
Dereh Kef: The Path Of Fun
An interactive program which utilizes various methods of Informal Jewish Education and engages congregants in new ways of teaching and learning. Topics include Jewish Folklore, Rabbinical philosophy, Jewish History, and Ethics.
Saturday Evening Havdalah Service
Heir To The Throne: Yonatan’s Journey
‘Heir To The Throne’ is the story of a prince who learned the meaning of friendship, as told through performance art, music, and a very spiritual Havdalah service. This program wraps up the weekend with a beautiful tale that reinforces all of the educational techniques brought forth through the Scholar In Residence program.
